Our Story

Thél Skin Care started in our Founder, Hauwa’s college apartment in Boca Raton, Florida. She and her friends experimented day and night for at-home skin care remedies to achieve “the” glow amidst the harsh South Florida Weather. In her Sophomore year, She discovered African beauty secrets and her journey began into the world of wholistic skin care and wellness.

Being an African Woman, Hauwa grew up believing that African skin doesn’t get sun burnt or that “black does not crack”, both are true to an extent but all skin needs to be taken care of; Her aunt’s who were in their 40’s and 50’s were a true reflection of this and naturally Hauwa learnt a lot from them. It took a lot of shadowing for her to understand what the secret really was. Surprisingly, a lot of it was from their pantries!

In 2018, she launched Thél Skincare from her Kitchen’s counter-top, not one to rest on her laurels she enrolled at the prestigious CIDESCO Beauty to further her knowledge in wholistic and organic wellness.

Thél is a testimony that natural ingredients work. We are a clean beauty brand, promoting purity that elevates the confidence of our women. We source all our ingredients from farmers all around Africa, all our products are organic and free of radicals and parabens.

Our Story

Thél Skin Care all started in my bedroom, at my college apartment in Boca Raton Florida. My best friend and I experimented day and night for at-home remedies we could use to achieve a glow amidst the harsh South Florida weather.

Being an African woman, I grew up believing that my skin doesn’t get sun burnt or that “black does not crack”. Both are true to an extent; my aunt’s who were in their 40’s and 50’s were a true reflection of this. It took a lot of shadowing and sit down’s for me to understand what the secret really was – a lot of it was from their pantries.

I am a product of a society that believes a lot in beautification, most especially for the one’s spouse. I was not exposed to a lot of skincare growing up, the idea was I would be when I was ready for marriage. If you are from Maiduguri, Nigeria, You may relate. That didn’t sit well with me. I wanted to do it for me first and so my journey began

In my sophomore year, I discovered African beauty secrets. I am proud to say I have never looked back. I did a lot of research and found myself falling in love with beauty and our African continent in a different way. This time, more proud to be a woman and African

I got connected to many women in my community from whom I learnt so much. The properties of our herbs and plants are indeed mind blowing. I later enrolled in CIDESCO; the world’s most prestigious spa and beauty certification authority. I am proud to have a diploma in CIDESCO beauty therapy.

Give our products a try, Together, we can glow and empower the local small scale farmers and traders for us as a way to feed their families.
